Who is Better for Uruguay, Obama or McCain?

Uruguay represents one of the strongest supporters of Obama in South America.

From May to September 2008 Gallup Polls conducted surveys in 70 countries to see who the world preferred to see elected into the Presidential office in the United States.

Uruguay had one of the strongest responses in favor of Obama, with 39% expressing their personal support for his campaign. In the lowest percentages in South America, only 7% support McCain. The other 55% are undecided.

Traveling to Colonia del Sacramento

A few weeks back Colonia del Sacramento was mentioned as being one of the top places to visit in Uruguay. The oldest town in Uruguay, it sits Rio de La Plata in southeastern Uruguay, facing Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Shannon Irish Pub – Montevideo

A night out in Montevideo really isn’t complete without a trip to the local Irish pub, The Shannon.

Final Weekend of the Expo Prado Agricultural Fair

This is the last weekend of the 103rd annual Expo Prado rural fair. The agricultural trade show has been going on since Thursday, September the 11th, and runs until Sunday, September 21st. The fair is open everyday from 8 am to 8 pm, and gives an interesting look at the rural way of life in Uruguay.

Held in Montevideo, the cattle and agricultural fair draws people from across the country to the capital city. It is a general trades fair for capital and consumer goods.

The fair is being held at the Predio del Prado and has been organized by the Asociacion Rural del Uruguay.
