Charlie's in the Kitchen at Lo de Charlie Restaurant in Punta del Este

Lo de Charlie is considered by many to be a Punta classic: delicious food that always hits the mark, large portion sizes, and a comfortable, laid-back aLo de charlie Resturant Punta del Estetmosphere.

The selection at Lo de Charlie is very wide, although the menu is heavy on the sea food, as to be expected. There are plenty of other choices, however, such as the insane wood-fired beef and lamb.

Unusual to many typical Uruguayan restaurants the vegetable servings are quite healthy, and the salads are actually the kind you would order as a meal!Beef entree Punta del Este

Despite being on the more expensive side, Lo de Charlie gives off a more casual vibe, perhaps due to the fact that Charlie himself can be found at the end of the grill jutting out in the dining room, chattering away with the diners and the staff. (His English is excellent.)

The intimate Lo de Charlie bistro is located at 819 12th Street; 598–042–444–183.

Make sure you try the cheese flavored ice cream (unless of course you are lactose Salad Vegetarian Punta del Esteintolerant), and keep in mind that if you pay in cash you get a 10 percent discount.

Main courses run about US $17, but believe me – it is well worth it.
